Writers at Play: Poems and Stories Vol. 1
Date: September – December 2023
Conducted by Nicolette Wong, Writer in Residence
Supported by Carolyn Liu, Intern
Participating Schools: Caritas Wu-Cheng-chung Secondary School and Tack Ching Girls Secondary Schools
An introduction to creative writing, this three-month course combines brief lectures, writing prompts, and interactive activities. With hands on guidance from the instructor, students will experiment with different forms of poetry and storytelling, as they discover the fun and value that they can create in their own writing. Discussion topics include word play, point of view, setting, character, and voice.
The instructor will offer personalised feedback on students’ work, while the group engages in peer review in class. Outstanding works will be selected for publication in a student writing anthology, to be published in early 2024.
