  • Graduating students achieving an outstanding final CGPA are considered for this award.
  • HKD$5,000 (in cheque)
  • An MA in AEL Academic Excellence Award certificate

 

For Local Students Admitted in 2026-27:

Scholarship Eligibility and Selection Criteria* Award
Local Students Entrance Scholarship*
  • No application required.
  • All admitted local students are automatically considered for the award.
  • Based on academic merits (e.g., strong GPA, English language proficiency, relevant achievements). Other achievements may be considered at the department’s discretion.
  • Up to 20% of tuition fee, subject to availability of funds
CUHK Alumni Tuition Reduction Scheme*
  • No application required.
  • Admitted students who hold a CUHK undergraduate degree.
  • Fixed fee reduction of up to 10% of tuition, subject to availability of funds
MA in AEL Local Students Graduation Scholarship
  • No application required.
  • Local students with strong academic performance upon graduation.
  • Eligibility criteria are determined annually and may vary between intakes.
  • HKD $10,000 (in cheque)
  • An MA in AEL Local Students Graduation Scholarship certificate
Hong Kong Future Talents Scholarship Scheme for Advanced Studies

  1. Scholarships are awarded based on merit and are not guaranteed.
  2. The number and value of scholarships are subject to change annually, depending on funding availability.
  3. The department reserves the right to adjust scholarship offerings without prior notice.
  4. Scholarships are non-renewable and awarded on a one-off basis.
  5. Recipients may be asked to assist with departmental outreach, student sharing, or promotion (participation is optional but encouraged).
  6. Awardees of the Hong Kong Future Talents Scholarship Scheme for Advanced Studies (FTSS) will not be eligible for these schemes.
