Rejecting the Muse: Traversing the Modernist Autobiographical Works of Anaïs Nin and Zelda Sayre Fitzgerald as New Women of the Early Twentieth Century.

Anaïs Nin and Zelda Sayre Fitzgerald are often overlooked as writers because of their romantic relationships with well-known authors, respectively Henry Miller and F. Scott Fitzgerald. This thesis aims to look at Nin and Sayre whose autobiographical works stand as examples of écriture feminine and feminist inquiries into the modernist literary scene by writing their women's experience through the bodies.
