The five years in the department is one of the greatest memories in my life. The department offered me a range of opportunities to explore myself both as a teacher and a researcher. My supervisor provided me precious guidance on both teaching and researching, which is useful for my future career.
The AEL program at the Department of English of CUHK not only enhanced my research skills and teaching skills, but also provided me with ample opportunities for personal and professional development. It was a very fruitful experience.
To conduct a PhD program needs persistence. I want to mention something that can make this virtue happen. Set a routine and a schedule throughout a day or a week; expand your social and academic networking; improve your mental and physical health with bodybuilding; and enjoy life in any potential city.
My four years at the English Department have left me great memories. In the autumn of 2013, the Global Scholarship Programme for Research Excellence sent me to Pennsylvania University, where I further expanded my knowledge and broadened my horizon. I feel grateful to the Department for giving me the precious chance.
My PhD studies at CUHK proved to be a very fruitful journey of enlightenment and scholarship. There were world-class professors, a well-developed curriculum with an outstanding research supervision system, and an exceptionally supportive environment for nurturing budding researchers. I feel blessed to have spent four years with the English Department of CUHK!
