Title of Dissertation:
The Effects of Task Complexity and Glossing on Chinese EFL Learners’ Acquisition of English Raising constructions

Supervisor:
Professor Jookyoung JUNG

Previous empirical and corpus-based studies have shown that English raising constructions are difficult for Chinese EFL learners to acquire. Based on the task-based language teaching (TBLT) theoretical framework, the present study aims to explore the impact of task complexity and glossing on Chinese EFL learners’ acquisition of English raising constructions and provide practical suggestions for the teaching and learning of English raising constructions.
